SUBMISSIONS
One of the most enjoyable things about being an artist is reading the nonsense that publishers or editors put in their submission criteria. It makes their job easier, of course, but it's a bit like being given a lecture by someone you don't know for a crime you've yet to commit.
Although we have high standards, we prefer not to demoralise you before you even reach the front door and so our submission criteria is as follows:
We value three things more than anything else: intelligence, humour and talent. If you write poetry, short stories, or short theatre pieces that show those qualities, then we would be interested in reading your work and will consider it for future publications. We cannot at this stage consider full collections and our bias is towards short to medium - sized pieces [for poetry, less than 30 lines, and for stories / theatre pieces, no more than a few pages long]. If you want a better idea of our world-view, check out our first publication "Vintage Poison".
As the press is at an early stage, we regret that we cannot pay the authors for any accepted submissions, but featured poets would receive two copies of the any work in which they were featured and UK exposure. Copyright would remain with the author. We do not seek printing costs or any payment from the author. We are NOT a vanity press.
